Our breast cancer 3 day team, Jim Harper’s Sole Patrol, gathered together for dinner.  We shared our stories, tips and ate some good food!  Thank you to Joe’s Produce in Livonia for the fruit & cheese trays, Buddy’s on Woodward for the salads, and my cousin’s deli, Breakaway Deli in Troy for the sandwichs. 

I am honored to be a captain, and proud of our team!  Thank you for a great time.

Cupcakes seem to the latest craze, but would you ever spend $4 on a cupcake?! 
Jim & Cyndy both said they have.  I can bake 24 cupcakes for $4. 
  
Again, I ask….would you ever spend $4 on A SINGLE CUPCAKE?!??!!?!

The battle of the cupcake results:  $4 cupcake was the winner over my cupcake out of a box.  BUT, my brownie out of a box beat the $2.50 brownie.

I can’t cook, but I can bake!
Wednesday is the meet and greet for our breast cancer 3 day team!  This year I thought I would bake cupcakes and brownies….enough for 80 people!  What was I thinking?!

Wow!  My little brother, Nophel, is getting married!!!!!  He has been with his girlfriend, Christy, since 10th grade.

The proposal story:
First, they went and saw the new Batman movie ‘The Dark Knight’ with another couple.  Then, the two of them went and had dinner  at the Renaissance Center.  They have a bench that overlooks the Detroit River, that they carved their names into four years ago.  When they have dinner at the Renaissance, they sit on the bench and watch the water and boaters.  It started sprinkling  (and my brother HATES the rain) so Christy started to get up to leave.  My brother said he had to ask her something very important before they left.  And, then he asked her to marry him!!!!!!!  SHE SAID YES!!

My brother is getting married….so weird!  But, I couldn’t be happier for them.  Aren’t they so cute?!

Chris and I went camping this weekend.  We took our pop-up camper, our dog Teddy and our scuba gear.  Thanks to the help of Dive Instructors Mark Kistner & Chris Colombo…we are officially certified scuba divers.

Please help this fundraiser if you are able to.  I know times are tough, but this is a great person, Patrick Salem, who’s only 29 year old and has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure.  His heart has become to weak to sustain his body.  A device in his chest is the only thing keeping him alive. 

If you can please help him any way you can, here’s the info:

Question for all the guys…and all the ladies who know their secret!  What are your favorite “girly type” shows??  I ask this because I got home early Monday morning, and Chris wasn’t expecting me for another couple of hours.  I walked in the house and caught him watching THE VIEW!!!  He always teases me for watching that show, and how it’s bickering back and forth.  I couldn’t stop laughing when I caught him!!

   

Some people have garden gnomes, some people have those globe balls…but I want to get a zombie garden sculpture!!  Chris says it’s too silly and refuses to let me put it in our front yard.  I think it’s cool…and really funny!!  It’ll scare the neighborhood kids, which would be sweet revenge for the  many times they’ve scared me.

Every time I put ketchup on my lunch meat sandwiches, I get weird looks.  It’s something my sister Zena and I grew up doing!
