On Sunday, I had the pleasure of introducing Night Ranger on the Budweiser National Stage in Mount Clemens.  They were very nice guys, they put on a great show and the festival was a blast.  Thank you to everyone for making this years Stars & Stripes Festival a success.

JOBBIE NOONER!!  It happens every year around this time.  It’s going on this Friday on Gull Island, and  I’m always called “up-tight” or “insecure” when I mention I don’t want to go.  I don’t know much about it, but from what I’ve heard it’s not a party I’d like to go to.

Kind of a funny list, I don’t agree with all of them…feel free to comment or add your own:
1.  Carry a Woman’s Purse
2.  Wear Flip Flops
3.  Wearing an apron (especially ones that have silly sayings)
4.  No Girly Drinks (Daiquiris, Apple-tini’s, etc.)
5.  Lick fingers while eating

The finale of The Real Housewives of New Jersey was a hot one!! 

Housewife Jacqueline was the only one to come to Danielle's aid.

Throughout the entire season one housewife, Danielle, was the center of most of the drama because of her criminal past, 25 years ago.  Other housewives, Dina and Caroline, kept their distance after digging up her past and revealing a book that accused Danielle of drug abuse and kidnapping.  Her past has caused her much tsuris and now it has made it’s way to the present.  Is it fair to judge someone by their past, or does your past follow you throughout your entire life?  Does someones past really matter today?

I don’t know why I’m glued to Jon & Kate Plus 8 and the publicity surrounding them, but I am.  If you’re like me and you can’t tear yourself away from the tabloids, you have to check out this YouTube video.  This is clearly why I can’t stand Kate Gosselin. She believes she’s an A List celebrity and sadly the kids take a backseat to her fame.

TLC says Jon and Kate will make an announcement on Mondays show.  I’m assuming they’re announcing their divorce, but who knows with reality shows.  In this season so far they’re rarely filmed together, if at all, and there’s tension and an uncomfortableness when they are together.  Kate has said they have grown apart, and after watching how much they’ve changed from the first few seasons to this season…that couldn’t be more true.

You may have heard Rob Thomas’ new song, Her Diamonds, but do you know what the song is about?  When I first heard the song I thought it was just okay.  After some research I learned that he wrote the song for his wife, Marisol, who is battling autoimmune disease.  In the song, you hear how how he and his wife are dealing with the disease and how her diamonds are her tears.  The lyrics are beautiful…”and I don’t know what I’m supposed to do, so I sit down and I cry too.”

My brother Nophel married his high school sweetheart, Christy on Friday, June 12th.  The wedding was beautiful, and I was honored to be a bridesmaid.  You may have met them at one of our Magic events, if not, there’s a good chance you will…they love our Magic parties.

Zena and I couldn't be happier for our little brother!

My brother is getting married this Friday, June 12th and we all got together for dinner over the weekend.  We talked about the wedding plans and helping his fiance move into their new home.  Someone brought up the topic of bills and money, and  I was naive to assume that every married couple combines their bills.  Most couples were telling me they make their own money and pay their own bills, and keeping their bills separate has worked for them.  They each pay for their own car payment, cell phone bill, etc.
