What did you make that was good?

Last week I went out  to dinner with some friends to a wonderful Italian restaturant.  I had a bowl of minestrone soup.  It was so good but I couldn’t believe it was $5.99!  The next day I stopped at the grocery store and stocked up on vegetables!  I made my own minestrone soup…I added tons of veggys and then I added hot sausage to it.  Presto dinner!  Good for you,  and ready  in a hurry!  What have you made or altered lately that would be really good to make ?  Help we all need new suggestions!  Thanks, Mitzi

    Hi Mitzi!

I just discovered this tasty, quick and easy soup recipe. I hope you like it. The next time I make it, I would add some chicken, although the original recipe doesn’t call for it.

    Cheese Tortellini Soup

    32 oz. chicken broth
16 oz. jar mild picante sauce
16 oz. frozen mix of vegetables, like green, red, yellow peppers, zuccini, corn, carrots, cauliflower.
19 oz. pkg. frozen cheese tortellini
    Parmesan cheese

In a large pot, bring the chicken broth and picante sauce to a boil. Add the frozen vege. mix and return to a boil, cooking for approx. 6-7 minutes. Add 2/3 pkg. of the cheese tortellini and cook for 3 minutes (or according to pkg. directions). Serve with paremsan cheese sprinkled on top. Enjoy!

That’s sounds really good and easy! Thanks, Mitzi

You apparently didn’t go to Moro’s, in Allen Park.
They have the best minestrone soup in the area, and it’s about $4.00, as a side, but included with dinner. In fact if you ever try it, you probably won’t ever make home made again.

Thanks Nancy, No I haven’t been there but I will make a mental note to try it next time I’m in Allen Park! Mitzi

    Crockpot Turkey recipe comment:
Nice flavor just came out too watery. So I drained the juice & thickened it with cornstarch and added some chuncked pineapple. Shredded the turkey breast. Was kind of like a sweet n sour, so I put it over rice. Was really good. I might change the 1 cup orange juice to 1/2 cup oj concentrate.

Thanks so much Mary Anne, I want to try this now, your suggestion will help! Mitzi
