What did you learn from your dad?
Andy Rooney said……I’ve learned…. That simple walks with my father around the block on summer nights when I was a child did wonders for me as an adult.
My Dad made being a parent seem so easy.
He taught me to lower my voice….the softer I say something to my daughter the harder she has to listen. Mitzi

My father taught me many things but the one I remember most is that friends and friendships will come and go but your family will always be there.

I was raised on a 40 acre farm in Harbor Beach Mi and being the youngest of the family I had to help my dad with farming after all my brothers and sisters moved out….I helped him take off crops, we raised our own meat, it helped build an addition onto our house, laid bricks…you name it I helped with it……..when my father built something he built it too last, I learned alot from him like hard work is very rewarding when you look at what you have accomplished and say “I built that” he taught me the value of a dollar….he would give us kids each a section of a bean field which we all had to hoe to keep the weeds out and when those beans where taken off, we would get our portion of bean money….he taught us to never lie, and never steal….to be an honest person and never be afraid of hard work.
Mary, What a fortunate person you are! Thank you for sharing! Mitzi
